Fragment Study 1

Fragment Study 1 begins with a found piece of sea‑worn plywood, its eroded layers echoing the artist’s process of building up and rubbing back paint. As layers are added and edited, suggestions of familiar shapes surface and fade again, as if the fragment were offering the start of a story. The painting lingers in this half‑recognised state, where past gesture and present attention meet.
