Sense of the Shore
Oil on panel, 2023
xx × xx cm
Colour fields drift and fold into one another, holding a shifting shoreline in mind without fixing it in place. Shaped forms rise and overlap like chalk edges and tangled seaweed, hinted at rather than fully described. The painting gathers a compound memory of days on the beach in sun and shade, where slow looking, walking and exploring gradually settle into a single, returning sense of the shore.
