Abstract composition with sweeping circular forms and loose marks suggesting stormy weather giving way to calmer light, in warm oranges and greens around a soft glowing centre.

Stormy Stay

Oil on canvas, 2021

64 × 64 cm

The painting was made after a camping trip where the artist arrived in a storm and had to improvise temporary shelter in order to cook dinner. It holds onto the mix of challenge and play in that moment, along with the renewed appreciation for warmth, sunlight and the quiet satisfaction that followed once the weather had passed.
